In the business world, there are often dress codes that employees must follow. Please click on the link below and read the Dear Abby article:

After reading the article, I would like for you to "take a stand" - meaning you either agree or disagree with the idea of professional dress in the workplace. (If your last name begins with the letters A-L, argue for professional dress; if your last name begins with the letters M-Z, you should argue against the need for professional dress.)
Your response should be in paragraph form and include at least three reasons that support your stand.

I think that professional dress is a great thing. I believe when you dress up ypour brain works better. You feel like you look better which means you have mor confidence and therefore are willing to work harder and do more. It also makes the company as a whole look better. If it is a company that deals with people in person i think you should be approchable. It gives a good message when people look nice for work. The buisness looks better if everyone looks nice and it gives off a better vibe to people.
I agree very much with the idea of professional dress in the workplace. By dressing down for work, you are sending a negative image to the possible customers or applicants searching for a job; not to mention your co-workers. By showing yourself in an obvious and (frankly) pathetic way, you are also putting a negative image on yourself and your level of intelligence. By dressing unprofessionally, you are showing your employer that you are unwilling to work for success and unwilling to follow even the most simple rules to keep your job and impress customers.
You may not have to wear suits everyday, but dressing appropriately for work is a big part of keeping a job and being successful at work.
Proffessional dress is a good thing. It lets anybody who arrives in your office building understand that you mean business. When you dress professional you get a different fealing letting you know that this isnt a time of casual thinking. When you get people dressing casual it can start conversations over things that arent about business.
I think people should be able to dress how they want when coming to work. In order to be the most productive they can be they need to feel comfortable. Dressing the way they want will allow them to express themselves. People also can be more confident when they dress down because they feel like they are in a more relaxed atmoshpere.
Professional dress is a good thing. Professional dress can do so many different things. For example, it can help get you promoted. If you were going to give someone a promotion between two people and one person was professionally dressed and the other one was dressed in rock clothes you would probably choose the professionally dressed person. Being professionally dressed can also make your company look good. Lastly, being professionally dressed, it shows that you care aboout your image.
This was a tough decision. In, some cases, I feel people should not have dress codes, and some cases I think people should. When it comes to work, I don't think proffesionally dressing is alway nessassary, but I would definetly be carefull with what you wear. No shirts with inapproapriate content or language on them, and make sure that your pants don't have holes. At least make yourself look decent.
I think you shoud dress up for a job or if you want to look professional. Because it makes you look nice and professional. In this case you also earn extra credit. Also if other people are dressed up with you, you all match and look nice to gether.
I believe people shouldn't have to dress professional at a job.I thnk people should feel comfortable in what they want to wear instead of what they have to wear.Dressing casual makes people feel more relaxed and in a more relaxed place. You can still wear jeans and be dressed up for work.
I think that if you're going to a professional workplace, you need to be dressed for it. Just like if you're going to a nice restaurant don't dress like you're gonna walk into McDonald's. It shows class and that you know what you're doing. When you look better, you feel better, and when you feel good, you typically make others feel good too. I'm sure your co-workers aren't gonna find it too "sexy" if you're dressed like what you think is appropriate in comparison to how you really should be dressed.
Also, if you are at work to represent your manager and the business, you shouldn't be dressed like a bum or like you're going to the beach. If you are, you should be punished. If you dress how you want to and not follow the simple rules that your manager or a boss gives you, it shows you're not committed to your work and that you shouldn't be there in the first place.
I agree very much with the "dress for success" and dress professionally idea. It's just classy.
I think that professinal dress is a very good thing. It makes not only you, but your company look more approachable and appropriate. If you have a dress code and everyone is dressed nice, it is a reflection on the compay and it shows that you care about your job. Dressing professionaly makes you focus on your job and you aren't as easily distracted. It shows that you care about your job and you will do what it takes to get the job done.
I think professional dress is a great thing because it makes you look more professional and ready to work. if you dress professional your co-workers will see you as a hard working person that is up for the job and is good at it.
